We wanted to remind everyone of our local food bank at Maks on Columbia Road.
Sabi and Joe at our lovely local Maks shop have had a food bank collection box for a couple of years. When they’re (eventually) full, the boxes are carried across to St. Peter’s.
Please donate something as regularly as you can.
P L E A S E SUPPORT TOWER HAMLETS FOOD BANK.
We live in one of the poorest boroughs in the UK.
52% of children in Tower Hamlets live below the poverty line.
MANY local families hit a crisis when they can’t feed their children tonight.
Local food banks can give them 3 days emergency food to keep them going while they search for another way to cope.
BUT FOOD BANKS CAN ONLY DO THIS IF PEOPLE (LIKE US) CONTRIBUTE FOOD OR CASH.
Maks Newsagent in Columbia Road make it easy for us to help –
you can drop off tinned or dry packaged food, buy some in the shop, or leave a donation.
Please see list of priorities below. Thank you for giving whatever you can.
