Tower Hamlets meeting on antisocial behaviour (21 March)

Following on from the first Weavers Ward anti-social behaviour meeting in Feb, Councillors John Pierce and Abdul Mukit have announced plans for a second. The meeting will be held on Tuesday 21 March at 6.30pm. See details below.

A number of people from JHERA attended to the first meeting and unsurprisingly it was a lively discussion with, it should be said, a genuine eagerness to put some effective measures in place for reducing anti-social behaviour. JHERA members are encouraged to attend this second meeting to represent residents and describe the kinds of incidents that occur on the Estate.

Dear neighbour

On Tuesday 28 February, over forty residents and local businesses from across Weavers Ward attended our workshop about solving our anti-social behaviour problem.

At the meeting, the attendees agreed to create a neighbourhood agreement for Weavers Ward to help tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in our neighbourhoods. Our neighbourhood agreement will be between residents, the Mayor, the Council, local councillors, the police and other agencies and it will help develop an improved localised approach to tackling the persistent problems we face on our doorstops.

Cllr Mukit and I have booked another session to take our neighbourhood agreement forward. I hope you can join us.

Date: Tuesday 21 March
Venue: Tower Hamlets Professional Development Centre, 229 Bethnal Green Rd, London E2 6AB.
Time: 6.30pm

Please also invite your neighbours as we need as many people as possible to help create this neighbourhood agreement.

Kind regards

John and Chunu
